Austin won a closely-contested 20-board match against the San Antonio Chess Club. The fine folks at the Cedar Bar and Grill in Lockhart donated the playing site. The event was the brainchild of Gregg Stanley of the SACC; Michael Langer of the ACC was instrumental in mustering the troops from Austin. Finally, we all have our own Lori Balkum for directing and coordinating the event.
Austin won by a slim margin, 21:19. We hope this will be an annual event; it certainly was great fun! We have a rotating trophy with room for annual results. Austin will host the trophy this year.
Thanks to everyone who participated and volunteered to participate!
