Twelve players came to do battle in a 7 round Swiss Blitz. Not a bad turnout, considering that this was Super Bowl Sunday and the Texas Junior Championships (which had over 1700 advance entries) was held this weekend. All in all, it was nice to run an easy, calm event.
Your humble author ended up finishing first with 6.5 points, good for $5.00. John Bell finished second with 6.0 garnering $3.00. There was a logjam of players at 4.0, including 1213(!) rated Arindam Raina, who won the $4.00 U1600 prize. I gave each 4.0 finisher $1.00 from my prize, since I was playing to keep the number of players even. Note: if you weren't here to claim your prize this week, stop by any night I'm here to receive it.
